Street Vendor Management in Kota Tua Managed by KUMKMP Dept

Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama (Ahok), uttered the street vendor management for Kota Tua, West Jakarta will be managed directly by Jakarta Dept. of Micro Small Middle Cooperative and Trade (KUMKMP). Previously, the management was handled by local traders cooperative.

After collecting the traders' data, we'll determine through a drawing. Then we register them to Bank DKI

The step must be taken to control the number of street vendor which keeps increasing. Based on the data, there were only 400 traders, but now 1,000 traders.

By directing the management to KUMKMP, Basuki added, there will be no collecting money to urban village and city cleanliness individual.

"Electricity and cleanliness are managed by city administration. Don't pay to an individual," he added.

Basuki stated that he will seize the unlisted traders' property if they are reckless trading around Kota Tua.

Kota Tua Technical Implementation Unit (UPT) has been formed to focus the management. UPT can use mayors, sub-departments, heads of sub-district and urban village as consultant.
